When we first got married, we had aspirations of starting a family and we were excited to become parents. After about a year, Courtney became pregnant and our whole family was excited. However, after about 7 weeks she miscarried and we were all crushed. We wouldn’t get pregnant again until a few years later and that also ended in a miscarriage. This led us to seek infertility treatment and see if we can figure out the root cause for us not having a family. After testing, it was determined that we had unexplained infertility and treatment was recommended. We tried 3 series of IUI treatments that were all unsuccessful. The next step was IVF, but we were not certain if this was right for us.
Since IVF was the next step with infertility treatments, we took a pause and really analyzed our options. The more we reflected and prayed, the more adoption became the choice for us. We felt we could either take the chance with IVF and wrestle with the convictions that come with that treatment or pursue adoption and help a family that is in need. To be honest, adoption seemed a little scary when we first started doing research on the topic. However, we have been blessed to have people in our lives to help us understand the whole process and the joy that comes from adoption. Hearing from others really soothed our worries about adoption and helped us realize that this decision is the best route for us.
Our biggest hurdle now is funding this adoption. The biggest shock to us when we started looking into adoption was the cost. It really adds up and are expecting a total cost around $40,000! That is not even including getting the nursery ready, all the baby supplies, and clothes. We are able to pay a portion of this amount, but need your help with the rest. We are grateful for anyone that can lend a hand and help us reach our dream of having our own family. If you cannot donate at this time, we appreciate if you can keep us in your prayers as we navigate this adoption journey.

On 6/11 we have been placed on the website and are now a waiting family! This means we are on the home stretch and at any moment we can be getting the call to pick up our baby from the hospital. We appreciate all the help and prayers we have received along the way and cannot wait for our family to grow!
