As many of you know, we have been through a lot of trials and tribulations as we have attempted to start a family. After much discussion, we have decided to move on from the more traditional ways of starting a family to the path life has laid before us.
We are adopting a child!
We are so excited and doing everything we can to prepare to welcome a sweet, beautiful new life into our home.
The process is long, and arduous, and unfortunately, expensive. Adoption can easily cost upwards of $35,000 or more, and so we are asking for donations to help ease the financial burden as we strive to start our family. By raising $18,000, you can help us cover the cost of the program, which will allow us to more easily cover costs for lawyers, finalizing the adoption, birth mom expenses, and any of the other myriad of costs that can arise.
We hope by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as they grow up. Thank you for helping our family grow.

Obviously, this is always a tough spot to be in and we really don't want to ask for more than we need. We ended up getting more back in taxes than we thought and will be using that surplus to cover the cost of the program and everything else. So, we reduced on goal.

Hello! We have just finished all of the paperwork (4 pounds of paper! PHEW!), and had both of our home study visits. We have been informed that we have passed the home study(YAY!) and are now just waiting for our social worker to finish finalizing the report.
In the mean time, we have begun putting together our profile that will be presented to birth mothers. Our hope is to begin the search for a match by the end of May and get that much closer to building our family.
