Brent & Mindy Mitcham
are adopting a child from United States of America
We’re Adopting Again!
We are thrilled to announce that we are beginning our second adoption journey! As we walk this path, we are leaning on prayer and faith, knowing that God already has the perfect baby in mind for our family.
Adoption is a beautiful but costly process, and in order to make it a reality, we are partnering with an amazing organization recommended by our adoption agency. This crowdfunding site is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, meaning any charitable contributions made toward our adoption are tax-deductible.
We would love for you to partner with us both prayerfully and financially. Your support-whether through encouragement, prayers, or financial gifts-means the world to us and helps ease the financial burden of this journey and allows us to focus on preparing our hearts and home for this precious child.
We also ask for your prayers over the expectant mom and her health, as well as for the baby we are so excited to welcome into our family. Most of all, we pray that God’s glory will be evident throughout this entire process.
Thank you for walking through many stages of life with us, always lifting us up in prayer and encouragement. We are so grateful for your love and support!

Our Hearts Are Full - Baby J's Adoption Story
February 13, 2025Just a week and a half after our home study approval, we received a phone call that would change our lives forever. Our caseworker called and asked if Brent was home so she could be put on speakerphone. The next words out of her mouth left us completely shocked and elated—there had been two “drop-ins” that day, meaning the babies had already been born, and the mothers had made the decision to place them for adoption while in the hospital. One of those incredible mothers chose us!
After the caseworker called and shared the news, we had less than 24 hours to wrap our minds around bringing home a new baby BOY, as he was already two days old and ready to be discharged home with us the following day. While we were somewhat prepared with supplies from when Josie was a baby, we quickly realized we had nothing for a baby boy! That evening, Brent put together the bassinet, and the next morning, I ran to Walmart to grab some baby boy clothes. The whirlwind of emotions—excitement, nerves, joy, and gratitude—was overwhelming, but we knew that God had written this story long before we ever received that phone call.
Baby J’s birth mother desired to meet us before we picked him up from the hospital. We were so thankful for that opportunity, to spend some time with her, hear her heart, and get to know a little more about her. Those moments were incredibly humbling and emotional. We left that meeting in awe of her strength and bravery. Shortly after, she signed paperwork to place her baby, and we made our way to the hospital nursery to meet our newborn son for the very first time.
When we first laid eyes on him, we couldn’t believe how precious he was. He was everything perfection, and we felt so incredibly blessed. A beautiful, perfectly healthy baby boy, lying in that little clear hospital bassinet—just waiting to be held. In that moment, our hearts overflowed with love, and we knew without a doubt that he was meant to be part of our family.
There are no words to fully describe what those moments felt like—humbling, heart-forming, joy-giving, all of the above. Adoption is filled with so many emotions, and our hearts broke for Baby J’s birth mother while at the same time overflowing with love and gratitude as we brought him home. We are incredibly thankful that she desires an open adoption, and we look forward to building that relationship with her as time goes on.
For now, due to Texas adoption laws, we cannot share identifying information or photos of Sweet Baby J's face until finalization in about six months. Until then, we will be soaking up all the sweet snuggles and sharing updates while lovingly covering his face in photos. The love he has already brought into our home is immeasurable, and we cannot wait for the day we can fully introduce him!
Thank you for being part of our adoption journey—we are so grateful for the love, prayers, and support from family, friends, and even strangers who have walked alongside us. The financial gifts, the meals, and baby gifts have been such a blessing. This is just the beginning of Baby J’s story, and we can’t wait to share more as time goes on!

Update 1
Puzzle Fundraiser
January 3, 2025This month, we will have our home study, and our first payment of $5,000 will be due! To help make this happen we are starting off with a simple and fun puzzle fundraiser! We wanted to give everyone in our lives the opportunity to be a part of bringing our sweet baby home. Whether you’re a part of our daily community or we haven’t seen you in years, or even if we don’t know you, we would love your help in completing our puzzle! Once it’s finished, we will be nearly funded for our first payment of $5,000 to our adoption agency!
How it works:
1. You can sponsor however many pieces you want for $15 a piece. Buy 1,2,5 or you can sponsor 10 if you’d like!
2. For each puzzle piece you sponsor, we will add your name to the back and add your piece(s) to the puzzle being completed. The completed puzzle will be placed in a double-sided glass frame that will be hung in the nursery so that our child can always look back and be reminded of who lovingly helped bring them home!
3. See the link at the bottom of this post to make your donation to our adoption fund. All donations given are tax deductible!
4. Make sure to add a comment to your donation with how many pieces you are sponsoring, as well as what name(s) or family name you want us to write on your puzzle piece(s).
5. Whether you can sponsor a piece or not, please SHARE this post on your stories, your insta, your Facebook and with your friends and families. The more who see it, the faster we can get the puzzle fully sponsored!
This is an incredible opportunity to help bring our baby home, and we are already so thankful for each and every one of you who are going to be a part of it!
