We have a match! This means that we have been assigned as the future parents of a specific child. Colombia has matched us with a soon-to-be 13 year old girl that we have been pursing since last spring, now we just need your help to make it official so we can bring her home!

As part of our adoption process, we’ve started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you hear that our adoption-related costs will total close to $50,000. This is why we have set a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

The most immediate need, at this time, is the next payment of $11,000, half of which goes to our placing agency for final fees and the other half to goes to our post-adoption expenses with our home study agency. Additionally, we are saving towards the actual trip costs as well. As part of the adoption process, Colombia requires a stay that usually lasts around 5 weeks but may take longer. We recently learned that Andrew will have to remain in Colombia with us through the full 5 week period (which is a recent change to their process). Unfortunately, his job does not offer parental leave, so we are saving to make up for the lost wages as well once his vacation time is exhausted.
