We have BIG news!
We are adopting a child!
We have been pretty quiet about it, but we have been on a journey to become parents for the last five years. In 2018, we decided we were ready to become parents and take the next steps into adding to our family. We decided artificial insemination was the way to go.
It was an exhausting and emotional process. And ultimately, after six unsuccessful attempts with $15,000 invested, we had to admit it wasn’t working. We were heartbroken, and financially devastated, and needed to take a step back.
We took our time to grieve, but in 2021, we realized we were ready to start the journey again. We decided we wanted to adopt, and are beyond excited. Now we are doing everything we can to prepare to welcome a new life into our home.
As part of our adoption process, and at the encouragement of family and friends, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $50,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $40,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our kid as they grow up.

We apologize for the radio silence. This year had proven to be a lot, and we never really had an update to share.
We are going to be making a series of posts on our IG: https://www.instagram.com/b.k_adoption/
And on our Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089586849526
We just shared the first post as of today!
Thanks,
Brittany and Kate
Its been way too long since our last update and in the many months since we updated, we have pushed forward with our adoption process. Our home study was approved in April and we had been review difference adoption agencies that would best fit us.
Unfortunately, that process had been pretty overwhelming, and through a recommendation from a family member, we reached out to the adoption advisory group, Purl Adoption Advisory for assistance. They have helped us put together our profile book that we can submit to agencies and adoption law offices. Our books are on order and should be shipped to us soon.
We're feeling really good about the progress we've made and hopefully we are that much closer to bringing a baby into our family!
Hello everyone!
Just a small updated. In December, we submitted our Homestudy paperwork. We received an email this past week letting us know Kate needs to get her fingerprint card renewed. So there is a small delay in getting our Homestudy finalized.
Fingers crossed, it doesn't delay it too much.
Love
Brittany
