We have JOYFUL news!
Our family is growing by one! We are adopting! We aren't adopting just any child, we already love this sweet girl, and she already loves us!
As some of you know, we met “A” this summer (2022), through some friends who welcomed this sweet 12 yr. old Colombian girl into their home for five weeks through an orphan hosting program called Project 143. (www.p143.org)
Project 143 is a summer hosting program for orphans in which the goal is to get these precious children adopted, or have the host family advocate and help find them a forever home. Due to the ages of these children who are considered ' older', they have an almost zero chance of ever being adopted. Hosting offers them a fighting chance.
This is exactly what our friends did by hosting "A"! We are so thankful that God used them and P143 to bring us together!
“A” stole our hearts. Her big beautiful smile radiates child like joy. During the five weeks she was in the U.S she quickly became a loved and valued part of our family as we spent extended hours and days intentionally getting to know and love her. She and our children grew to love one another fiercely!
"A" is a silly girl that always had us laughing, she is non stop high energy, determined at anything she sets her mind to, and lastly, she loves to walk around singing and smiling!
Before "A" left she told us that she had grown to love us as her family; just as we had grown to love her. She also voiced that she was going back to Colombia to inform the program that she wanted us to be her forever family. Little did she know that we feel the same!
The day "A" left to go back a piece of us left with her. It was a day of grief for all of us and we've experienced grief as we are apart and await her return.
Now we have an URGENT NEED to get these funds raised as we begin the process to bring our girl home as quickly as possible! Colombia has a no contact policy with anyone back in the U.S until the child is adopted. We need to bring this girl home, and we would be humbled for you to join us in helping to make it happen!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to hasten the process. The waiting is painful for both ends.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that international adoption related costs can easily total up to more than $45,000. This is why we have set a goal of $45,000 (our family’s estimated cost to adopt from Colombia) to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. The country of Colombia requires a 4-6 week stay in country for final documentation processing and court processing, so the actual cost to our family to finalize this adoption will be beyond this estimated number after factoring in lost incomes during our in country stay. While the numbers seem impossible and overwhelming, we have faith that God can and will provide.
We are prepared to make all the logistics work to bring “A" home, but we need your help meeting our $45,000 fundraising goal! Your donation through this platform is tax deductible!
