Family and Friends!
We have exciting news! We are thrilled to announce that we are adopting! Through the last few months it has been very evident to us that God had different plans he was guiding us towards. In May we started to feel like the Lord had closed doors on the foster to adopt process for us, and while we felt sad and discouraged, we also felt a peace to leave that behind and follow God's tug on our heart to pursue adoption. After praying and listening to the Lord, we began to feel an overwhelming peace and decided to begin the adoption process.
Our longing to have children has been a long awaited one. Growing up I always thought I would have my own children but it wasn't until later when I got into middle school that I found out I had a health condition that would prevent me from having my own. My dreams were crushed as the thoughts lingered in my mind. I had to grieve, accept, and surrender to God that his plans were far greater than mine. The Lord placed on my heart a great, deep desire to adopt, and that adoption would one day be Logan and I’s story.
“All things are from him and through him.” This is true of adoption and you can see it in Ephesians 1:5. “In love he predestined us for adoption through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace.” We are adopted through Jesus Christ. We are part of God's family. He chose us as his children and through the covenant we get to experience forever with him. We want to teach our child the importance of this message and how it relates to their adoption. We pray that as we teach our child about God they will come to have a great understanding and knowledge of the gospel.
We are filled with great joy and expectation that this is The Lord’s will in how He will grow our family. We know that God has good, good, promises and we are looking forward to seeing how everything unfolds in this new, unknown journey ahead. This is going to be a new season of life for us and we would be so grateful for your prayers and support along the way. A couple of things you could be praying for:
Prayers for our little one whom we don't know yet. Pray for a safe, healthy delivery and that our baby would come to know Jesus at an early age. Prayers for the child’s birth parents. Pray for their hearts as they prepare to make a hard decision to put their child up for adoption. Prayers for us as we navigate this new journey ahead. Pray for peace and clarity in our decisions and that God would continue to direct our path.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers. We feel so blessed. Excited to add a new member to our family!! We love you and can’t wait to meet you baby Proctor!!
