I am excited to share some news - I'm adopting a baby!
I am in the very early stages of a process that will most likely take more than a year. One of the first steps is entering a financial commitment. As such, I have started a crowdfunding campaign. You may not realize this, but a domestic adoption can cost up to $50,000 or $60,000. An international adoption can be up to $80,000. I have set a goal to raise $40,000 in the hopes that I can ease this financial burden.
I have quietly spent the past five years intermittently engaged in fertility treatments, from artificial insemination to embryo transfer. All attempts failed. Believe it or not, out of pocket fertility treatments were less expensive than trying the adoption route. Thankfully adoption is still a viable route for me.
I truly want to create a family where I can share my love and compassion, knowledge, strength, traditions, values, and extended family with a little one as we both grow and learn from the experience.
Peanut is eagerly waiting to meet her new baby sibling!
