We’re Katie & Travis, and for as long as we can remember, we’ve dreamed of becoming parents. Family is the center of our lives, and we have so much love to give. Our journey to parenthood hasn’t been easy, but we believe that love builds a family—not just biology.
Our Story We met in 2014 in Austin, TX, and it was love at first sight. We quickly knew we were meant to be together, moving in shortly after dating and getting married on 11/11/2017 at Katie’s parents' ranch.
Katie is from New Braunfels, TX, and Travis is from Thrall, TX. We now live in Smithville, TX, in a beautiful three-bedroom home on a half-acre lot—a home we dream of filling with children’s laughter, bedtime stories, and backyard adventures.
We both work for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)—Katie as a Learning & Development Specialist, while also working toward her Bachelor’s in Organizational Leadership at Abilene Christian University (Graduating December 2025), and Travis as a Purchaser. We love spending time with our families, especially doting on our sweet nephew, Rhett.
Why Adoption? Katie has always known she wanted to be a mom. When people asked her as a child what she wanted to be when she grew up, her answer was simple: “A mom.” She started babysitting at 11 years old, and kids have always been a part of her life.
Unfortunately, our path to parenthood has not been easy. After years of trying and difficult conversations, we decided that adoption was the best path for us right now. We know there are children out there longing for a family as much as we are longing to be parents, and we are ready to open our hearts and home to the child meant for us.
