We’ve got some BIG news! Our family is adopting a child from Haiti!
We have always hoped and planned for adoption to be a part of our family. We have felt God leading us to this, and we are so excited to welcome a child into our family.
The reality is, international adoption is expensive. We expect our adoption to cost around $50,000, potentially much more if we are matched with siblings. We have included the cost breakdown from our agency below, so you can see where those funds are going. We are humbly asking if you would consider helping us bring our child home by supporting us financially. You can make a donation here that is tax deductible (note that they take 5% of all donations to cover payment processing/admin costs).
It would feel incomplete to share how excited we are to welcome a little one into our family without also acknowledging the deep grief and loss that comes with adoption. Adoption is beautiful and redemptive, but it cannot come without the immense trauma of a child losing their first family and culture. Adoption is both/and. Beautiful and heartbreaking. Gain and loss. Joy and sorrow. As adoptive parents, we hope to hold this tension well and always honor our child's first family, culture, and story.
We look forward to updating you as we move through this process. Please feel free to reach out to us to hear more or if you have any questions!
