Florida child laws, nearly make it impossible to be given your right as relative to adopt when all rights should be first choice relative…. I got emergency placement of my great nephew in 12/2021 he was 8 months at the time. Fast foward he'll be 3 years old end of March 2024. I lost my oldest brother 17 years ago to cancer he was 36 and I miss him dearly every day . Lost my father 7 years ago and honestly they don't make men like him these days. I was taught by my dad to never back down, don't let them defeat you and never walk away from your family! Well 5 years ago I lost my other brother to pneumonia and I still ask why did you have to take them all?? I have niece from my 2nd late brother. Then boom life change for me on 12/15/2021 when my mother frantically calling me, DCF was there to take my great nephew away from his mother, my niece, at the time Jayse was 8 months old and such a joy, always happy never fussed always had a smile on his face. Jayse is now going on 3 years old. For almost 2.5 years I've been the only mother in his life, I might not have birthed him but he means the world to me and I'll my best to always protect him,Love him and encourage him to always strive to be his best. Unfortunately I got what felt like a two ton knife in my back, when gaurdian ad litem had him removed from me after all this, child is then placed into foster care. Utter pain that I felt even more so . Gaurdian Ad litem had no right as to he was in day. It's been two weeks and I'm running below empty, I've tried everything I can think of the help me get Jayse back. Adoption was and has been plan. I'm clears on DCF side to adopt my great nephew and have him come home where he belongs so that I can continue to be amazed at how much I see my brothers and dad . Jayse deserves to be back at the only home he's known. All my love respect and prayers for every family dealing with the unknown of where your child is. I'm in the clear with DCF and was told if I still wanted adoption for Jayse that I had all rights to and I have no restrictions. Please bring Jayse home
