Our journey together started eight years ago. We met online not long after I graduated from Wichita State University. Daniel was in the Army, stationed at Fort Riley, and I lived 2 hours away in Wichita. Before we knew it, we were talking continually throughout the day and night.
Our relationship has withstood challenges that have helped us grow stronger as a couple. We had been dating for just six months when Daniel was deployed to the Middle East. We corresponded continuously, and saw each other whenever possible until 2018. With Daniel happily settling into civilian life, we were finally able to close the distance and move in together. In 2019 we married on a beautiful November day, surrounded by friends and family.
We’ve always dreamed of becoming parents, and have had our favorite baby names picked out for years. However, our journey toward parenthood has unfolded differently than we expected. After years of unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant and riding the roller coaster of fertility difficulties, we began to explore adoption possibilities. We feel a conviction that God is steering us toward adoption as the right choice for our future family.
We’re incredibly excited to be starting our journey and look forward to bringing our precious little one home. We have so many cherished memories together, and we are eager to open our hearts and begin making new memories with our child. Our future child is already loved beyond measure, and we long to watch them grow and help them achieve their dreams. In addition to extremely hopeful parents to be, the little one has a loving extended family who are eagerly awaiting their arrival.
Although we are prepared for the hard work and expense of raising a child, we are facing the staggering costs of adoption. We are fully committed to this process and have identified an adoption agency. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our story and deeply appreciate any and all prayers, well wishes, or donations. We’ll be sure to keep everyone updated as our journey unfolds.
As a thank you to our supporters, we plan to have a “Blessing Wall” in the nursery. We will paint all the names of the amazing people who support and donate to our fund on the wall, so our little one will always know how their story began surrounded in love from their extended community.
We cannot say thank you enough for all your support, whatever form it may take. Your help in growing our family will be a cherished gift we will treasure for a lifetime.
Good Afternoon All,
We just wanted to give you a quick little update.
All of our paperwork and photo books have been submitted to the agency. We are now waiting on our background checks and fingerprint checks to be processed. Once our background and fingerprints are approved we will then be able to have our home study. This process on average can take one to three months depending on how quickly the states are able to process our background checks and fingerprints. However, we are one step closer to bringing our little one home thanks to you all! Again, we can't say thank you enough.
