Ryan & Raechel Russell

are adopting 2 children from United States of America

In December 2023 we shared that we had big news - we’re adopting again! It’s now June 2025 and we have BIGGER news, we are adopting… twins!

We have matched with a loving birth couple in Florida, and we are adopting twin girls! Our daughters will arrive sometime in July.

The waiting process has been filled with longing and heartbreak, but we never could have imagined a blessing as big as this one. God gave us a miracle when he matched us with Griffin, and now we have two more miracles on the way!

If you want to know more, please read the updates below. Thank you for loving us through this journey and please continue to pray for the birth mom and all the babies!

Adoption and Our Family

Adoption has played such a special role in our family ever since we adopted Griffin in October 2021. We are ready to grow our family again, and we are excited to once again do that through adoption!

This time we are ready to adopt a little GIRL. Griffin is excited to have a little sister!

Now that we’ve matched, we are so excited that we will be growing our family with two little girls and Griffin is so ready to be a big brother! The adoption process can be complicated and is unique to each birth and adoptive family. Out of respect for the birth mother, we’re keeping some details private. We are happy to say that we’re excited to work with her though and looking forward to what the future holds!

Adoption Funding

As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs are quite expensive. While we do not expect to fundraise the entirety of our expenses, we have set our goal at our expected expense rate of $50,000. This includes the legal fees, agency fees, support for the birth mom, an extensive NICU stay, and more.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our daughters as they grow up.

Adoption Questions

How can we support you in this journey?

Prayer — Thank you for praying that God would place the right children into our life! Now we kindly ask you to join us in praying daily for the health of the babies and the birth parents. Pray that the babies could grow safely in their mothers womb as long as needed, and pray for the medical team that will deliver the babies. Pray for the medical team in the NICU, for their wisdom and kindness, and for the babies to thrive. Pray for the parents of our children as they choose a different life for the twins. Pray for the birth mom’s health, for confidence in her decision, and that she would be surrounding by the community and resources she needs beyond the adoption.

Giving — While we have been saving for adoption for some time, because the expenses are significant, we are happily accepting any donations you may wish to give. Donations through this website are tax-deductible. If you are willing and able to support our adoption financially, we would be honored.

Are you adopting domestically or internationally?

We are adopting domestically! The babies will be born in Florida.

What organization are you working with?

We have worked with several agencies in search of our daughter but we have officially matched through The Law Offices of Kim Gossett. You can learn more about her agency here: https://kimgossettadoption.com/

Where are you in the process?

We just matched with a great couple in Florida! Now that we’ve been chosen, a different type of waiting and preparation begins! Right now we’re prepping the house for twins and waiting to find out when we get to meet them. We’ll go to Florida for a while until the babies are healthy and we are cleared to come back home.

What is your timeline?

The babies will arrive via scheduled c-section in July. While the birth mom is due in September, being pregnant with multiple babies means that a scheduled c-section will be necessary for the health of both mom and babies. Right now we’re all hoping she can make it as long as possible, so please pray for her continued health and comfort.

Why is adoption so expensive?

Adoption fees include legal fees, medical expenses for the birth mother, agency fees, and a variety of resources for the birth mother, like counseling and living expenses. Since there will be an extensive NICU stay for the babies, funding has been added there as well.

What else do you want us to know about adoption?

We believe adoption is a picture of what God has done for us through Jesus. When someone places their faith in Jesus and His death for all people on the cross, they become a son or daughter of God, part of His international family. We see adoption as an opportunity to embody in everyday life what God has done spiritually in our lives. While not the main reason we’re adopting (it’s about the kids), we hope this symbolism tells the story we hold true.
