We are adopting a child, a precious newborn baby! We couldn't be more THRILLED!
Most of you know our story but for those that don't here is some insight on why this would be such a blessing to our family:
Sierra had cervical cancer when she was 17 and due to that had to have a hysterectomy; her ability to have kids was taken at a young age, something she had always dreamed of. Cancer is cleared, but still a huge part missing. A desire to have children never went away and only gets stronger as time goes on. We can't imagine a bigger miracle for us than to be able to have our own baby to love and provide for forever!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more through an agency, however we were blessed enough to not have to go through an agency. Even that being so, our cost would go toward attorneys for both parties and a home study. Our costs look between $10,000-12,000 and still is beyond our means. This is why we have set a goal of $10,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
