are adopting a child from Colombia

Our family is so excited to be welcoming home another child. After an exciting summer together we have decided to adopt our host son! This process can about a year, but we are working diligently to try and get him home sooner.

About our family: We have adopted 5 kids out of foster care and have one biological child. We have spent many years as foster parents and also have been host parents for two years. From the moment we met him, we knew that he was meant to be part of our family. We feel so blessed, and look forward to bringing our teenage son home forever.

The cost of international adoption from his country is between 35-50k.

Thank you for considering helping us bring our son home!

We are thankful that we are in our final few weeks of waiting before we can be reunited with our boy! He is anxious for us to get there and get him and we are going as fast as we can. One more paper approval needed before we can get our plane tickets! We are so excited! Thanks for following us on our journey!

    A Happy Cry

    May 21, 2023

Our youngest daughter explained to us the other day that sometimes we cry happy. When things are so good we just can't help, but cry. I love her understanding of emotions and that she has felt that much joy before.
We were able to happy cry when we found out that we have an accepted dossier and are one step closer to picking up our son!
Thank you for the prayers and support along the way we appreciate it more than you can imagine!

    Waiting and Praying

    February 14, 2023

The process to adopt internationally has proven to be much more difficult and time consuming that adopting from state foster care. The good news is that I have completed the paperwork required (I have been working on this since August). Now we await approval of our i800a which I estimate will arrive in about a month. Once this is received our paperwork will be sent to his country and be translated. I have been praying for quick translations to help make this step go a little faster and get our papers into the hands of those that will need to approve it. Once our paperwork has been approved, it will be sent to his agency and we will wait for a referral, this will be our official match. We have been told that once matched, we will get to call him! So desperately I just want to bring him home now, but even more pressing, I want him to know we are coming. I want him to feel that pressure lifted knowing his family is working hard to bring him home.

Octavia has been doing "Paperwork" to "bring her brother home" too.
This photo is her working on a photo page, just like I was doing in the other room. I was so surprised when I came into the kitchen and saw her working. She did a great job!
