Lionel and Kristen Sims
are adopting a child from United States of America
We have life-changing news!
It’s been years since we last shared about our IVF journey. What began with so much hope became a deeply humbling road—
A gift came to us when we conceived on our first IVF cycle, a baby boy named Lio Legend. Born a micro-preemie at 24 weeks, we lasted through a 106 day stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and brought him home.
3 months later, we lost our son to a sudden illness.
Family and friends stood with us during our Legendary Hope campaign as we prepared to try IVF again—but that door closed in a way we didn’t expect.
In grief, we tried 6 more IVF cycles. None of them succeeded.
As we began to reconsider the possibilities of growing our family, a phone call opened a door for us—one that answered prayers not only for us, but for another family as well. With full hearts, we said yes!
We are adopting a baby girl, and we expect her arrival in late June!
We are overwhelmed with joy and gratitude to grow our family in this way. At the same time, adoption comes with significant costs, often exceeding $35,000. Our estimated expenses are between $40,000–$50,000, and after years of IVF, we are trusting God and our community once again. We’ve set a goal of $25,000 to help ease this burden.
If you feel led to support, pray, or share our story, we would be so grateful. More than anything, we hope to surround our daughter with a village of love—and that includes you.
