We are adopting!! And we need your help to bring our child home. Since before we were married, and way before we had two little ones of our own, we've always had a heart for adoption - and the time has finally arrived to put some action around that heart.
Here's how you can help:
We've created a 1,000 piece puzzle adoption fundraiser. The puzzle is a beautiful photo Greg took while hiking with 1 Samuel 1:27 ("for this child we have prayed") on the photo. This puzzle will be put together and framed for display in our child’s bedroom. What makes this extra special is that YOUR NAMES will be on the back of the puzzle, and we will use a double-sided frame so we can see all the wonderful people who played an important part in our child’s story.
HOW A PUZZLE PIECE ADOPTION FUNDRAISER WORKS:
We have a 1,000 piece puzzle that was custom made for our sweet child.
Each piece = a $40 donation, and will go directly towards bringing our child home from India. You can buy 1, 2, 10, 50… however many your heart desires!
To "purchase" a piece, make a TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION on our AdoptTogether site.
After purchasing your piece(s), we will write your name on the back of the puzzle piece(s)! Once all puzzle pieces have been assigned or “sold”, we will put the puzzle together and frame it to be displayed in our child’s room.
So… Greg and Elizabeth are asking YOU to be a part of this. A tangible part of uniting us with our child. From orphan to beloved child, from home-less to home-bound. If we sell each of the 1,000 pieces, and we pray we do, we will together have raised $40,000 which will cover 90% of our adoption costs!!!!! And that is HUGE!! It is so hard for us to ask for money. It is humbling and scary and challenging. But this is such a beautiful thing, such a worthy investment. It has very little to do with us; it's so much bigger. We can't wait for you to be a PIECE of our adoption story!
We are legally parents of three children as of a few days ago. Our adoption orders were made official in India and we could not be more excited to bring our little girl home.
What's next?? We are currently waiting on her updated birth certificate and passport with her new last name so that we can travel to bring her home in 6-8 weeks. We are working hard to pull together paperwork and coordinate travel plans in the meantime. Pray that nothing delays the process and that we will soon be on our way to India, and that both the preparations and travel are smooth. We'll be spending anywhere from 2-4 weeks in country, with multiple legal appointments, lots of bonding time, and at least 22 hours of flight time on the return trip home.

I never realized how similar the adoption process would be to a 1,000 piece puzzle - it takes longer than expected to complete, there are lots of different pieces that have to fit together, having people to help makes it easier, and it can be exhausting at times - but, slowly and surely, progress continues to be made.

1. Pray that our eyes and heart would be open to the direction God wants us to take when it comes to the child we will adopt.

3. Pray for a hedge of protection around our child that would allow them to be healthy and grow despite any circumstances.
4. Ask God to help us trust the process no matter what the outcome.

As we are reflecting on the last 12 months and how much has happened and there’s only one word that can sum it up: GRATEFUL.
GRATEFUL to God for opening our hearts and continuing to mold them throughout this adoption journey.
GRATEFUL for the social workers and agents who have helped us with all of the applications, paperwork, information, and education that we’ve gone through.
GRATEFUL for our community who have been helpful in so many ways; from helping us process and praying with us and to freely and enthusiastically supporting us financially.
We could not and can not do it without you and your support. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything so far.
A few months ago we gained approval from US Immigration to bring a child home to the US… and on Friday we received word that India’s Central Adoption Resource Authority has given us approval to bring a child home from India.
What does this mean? This means, over the next 6 or more months, we’ll start receiving real stories of real children to connect with.
There will be a lot to process and pray on and we’ll keep you posted soon with specifics.
