We are adopting a child!

Many of you know that we have been on this path for a long time. After our challenging experience with foster care, we have decided to pursue an adoption through a domestic agency called Adoptions from the Heart. Our home study has been approved, and our profile book is complete…and now we wait for a match! We are so excited to welcome another child into our home and build our “forever family” through open adoption.

As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign: it may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs (to cover legal fees, support and counseling for birth mothers, administrative and social work costs, etc) can easily total $40,000-$50,000. This is why we have set a fundraising goal of $5,000 to help ease the financial burden of adoption. We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
