We are embarking on a new adventure! God has laid it upon our hearts to serve a child by way of adopting them into our family. We are thrilled and honored to be growing our family through international adoption!
We humbly ask for prayer during this time as we seek to be receptive to God's call. Adoption is a huge emotional, psychological, physical, and financial investment for our family. So, in addition to your prayers, we are asking for financial assistance for this process. Your help will allow us to take care of the paperwork, agency fees, legal proceedings, travel, immigration, and other various costs required to bring our child home. We trust that the Lord will provide all we need, and are excited to see how He uses this community to help us bring our child home!
Thank you for taking the time to follow along with our journey. We are so grateful to each of you!
As most of you know, we found out in January that we are expecting a bio baby in September! Since sharing that wonderful news we have had a lot of questions about what that means for this adoption process.
The program we are adopting through requires you put your adoption on hold during your pregnancy. We will have up to 2 years to come off of hold, but can do it as soon as a month after the baby is born. Our plan is the do the later, and to be a waiting family again in the fall!
From the very beginning conversations about growing our family, we both felt the Lord telling us we would add babies through both adoption and biology. For 2+ years we prayed for this bio baby, but that was not what led us to adoption. We feel God calls all believers to care for the orphan and widow, and for our family that looks like adopting a child into our family as our own in joyful obedience!
We are so excited for the answered prayer of this sweet life, and are anxiously anticipating the re-opening of our family’s adoption case and to meet our sweet child in Hong Kong.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support of our family as we live joyfully in the plans God has for us!
In Christ,
Cass + Alex
Hey everybody!
It has been a CRAZY past few days!! As many of you know, we were chosen as a top ten family for the 2023 Adopt with Fund the Nations campaign. Through this fundraiser, 10 adoptive families share their stories to get the most "votes" in order to be the winning family at the end of the week. One t-shirt purchased = one vote, and the winning family receives a FULLY FUNDED ADOPTION!
Through sharing our story for this fundraiser we received an INCREDIBLY generous donation from some of Cass's dear friends to FULLY FUND OUR ADOPTION!! Praise God, He is GOOD!!! We are so humbled, overwhelmed, and deeply grateful for this gift. We have consistently been at a loss for words as we have watched friends, family, and strangers rally around us throughout this adoption process. It has truly been incredible.
We continue to wait for our immigration approval and to be matched with our child, but if we've learned anything this week, it's that the Lord provides at exactly the right time, and for that, we are so grateful.
We appreciate your continued prayers and support as we continue on this long journey!
In Christ,
Cass + Alex
Today marks one full year of being on this adoption journey. We have learned so much of the goodness and sovereignty of God, as well as many lessons in patience and surrender. We have seen the body of Christ show up in the most amazing ways, and continue to be so grateful for the prayers, support, and encouragement we have received from all of you.
As of today we have received home study approval which means we are now officially a waiting family for a child age 0-7 from Hong Kong to join our family. The next step is to submit our I800A application & wait for our first round of immigration approval.
We ask for prayers for patience and perseverance as the waiting continues to feel long and hard. And we continue to believe and trust that the Lord holds this process, as well as our child, in His hands. How comforting a truth that is!
In Christ,
Cass + Alex
This morning our church family prayed over Lifeline Children’s Services, and our specific adoption process. We are so thankful God faithfully led us to a church congregation that so deeply and actively cares for the widow and orphan, as the Lord commands us to. We are so thankful for an adoption agency that is Gospel-centered in their mission to love the vulnerable. We covet the prayers of our fellow believers as we continue on this journey.
We officially start our home study interviews next week, and would love prayers for that process! We are specifically requesting prayers
1. We would faithfully follow where the Lord leads.
2. That God would be reflected through us in every step.
3. And that any hurdles would be removed so we are able to finish this process quickly and accurately.
In Christ,
Cass + Alex
After months of waiting we were finally able to complete our orientation interview last week, officially marking the beginning of the home study! We are now in the education phase, where we will be completing trainings, reading books, and overall acquiring knowledge to help prepare us for bringing a child into our family with a background of trauma, insecure attachment, and a high level of need. We are asking for prayers for motivation and endurance as we are trying to complete the education piece by the end of the year!
Additionally, about a month ago we were able to submit our first two payments totaling to $4062.50 fully funded by the generosity of family and friends on this platform! Thank you for supporting this calling the Lord has laid on our hearts - we are so grateful 🤍
In Christ, Cass + Alex
