We are beyond excited to share our BIG news, we are hoping to adopt a sibling group from foster care!!
We have been together for eight years and we have had a very difficult journey trying to grow our family. Over the years we have had four miscarriages. After our last miscarriage earlier this year, we fervently prayed and believe God placed the desire for parenthood through adoption in our hearts. God's plans are always better than what we think is the way things should progress in our lives, as only he knows where to lead us. During our years together we have had the time to build a strong foundation of love, compassion and deep commitment to each other and to our marriage. Our life feels complete in so many ways, and yet so incomplete for the yearning to be parents. In this new chapter we are about to undertake, we are truly looking forward to seeing one another in the roles of Mummy and Daddy.
We are currently the 17th couple on the waiting list for a newborn and have completed our home study. However, in our extensive researching online for information and articles about adoption; we came across articles and a website of children currently in foster care who are eligible for adoption, and our hearts were touched by a precious sibling group up for adoption together. There are three kids, ranging in ages from 8, 5 and 3 years old. There are so many children who need good, loving and stable homes and it is our desire to parent these children with love, laughter and to allow them to benefit from our knowledge and talents.
Adoption from foster care has little costs involved for the actual adoption, IF done through the state. However, we have already begun the process with a private agency as our first hope was to adopt a newborn, so we already paid out of pocket for our home study. We are in the process of getting the additional training needed for adopting from foster care and then we will go on to the process of being matched with the children. The amount of $15,000 we are trying to raise will cover our travel and hotel expenses, as the kids are located on the West Coast, out of our state, and we will have to make multiple trips before we will be able to bring them home. In addition to travel related expenses, we are asking for help with the costs involved in preparing our home for three children. Things like furniture for their bedrooms, bedding, toys, books etc. Most everything will need to be bought times three. Often the costs associated with adoption has made it almost unattainable for hopeful parents. But, by making a donation it will help make our hopes of bringing these children home with us a success.
Every donation is tax deductible and with your wonderful help, we will be able to realize our hearts desire to have children of our own, to raise them to be happy, well-adjusted children that will have lives filled with opportunities, adventures and above all else love!
