Hello all. My name is Sarah and I’m a single mom with a heart full of love for three amazing girls. Last year, I adopted my teenage daughter, K (16), from Colombia. It was life-changing and amazing, and also financially and emotionally intense. I didn’t fundraise then because asking for help doesn’t come easily to me. But here I am, asking for help, because I love these girls so much, and I need your help to bring them home.

This summer, I hosted E (16) and S (12), two sisters from Colombia, through a short-term hosting program designed to help older children find adoptive families. We never planned to host, but when a family backed out at the last minute, we were asked to step in. We had no idea that these girls would change our lives forever.

From the moment they arrived, I knew they were special. E is creative, deeply kind, and wears her heart on her sleeve. S is silly, sweet, and thinks there’s no such thing as too many hugs. Our bond grew quickly and when it was time for them to return to Colombia, all of our hearts broke. That’s when we knew — they were already family.

Upon returning home, E and S told their social worker that they found their mom and they don’t want anyone else. And I feel the same. I will do anything I can to bring them home.

But international adoption is incredibly expensive. Completing two adoptions, back-to-back, as a single parent, is a financial mountain that I have no idea how to climb. And so here I am, asking for help.

Everything and anything helps. Whether it’s a few dollars or simply sharing our story, it all gets us one step closer to being together again, permanently.
