As a surprise to almost no one: We're Adopting!!
We are so grateful for our community and the people around of us who have supported us this far, unfortunately the cost of adoption is extensive and we would love to invite you into helping us bring our newest little home if you felt led!
Thank you so much! We are so grateful!
Whew! What a past month! Jon is back into the swing of work and his last semester of his masters program. The kids are loving school and finally seem to be adjusting into the routine. I just had my first week back at work, taking on a slightly different role and it was exhausting and great!
On the adoption front we had our second post placement a couple weeks ago and hope to only have one more at the end of the month. Our agency is currently telling us everything should be ready to file by mid-October. We are so grateful we were approved for a partial legal grant, this will help significantly with the finalization costs. To cover the rest of the legal fees we are doing one last fundraiser in which I am doing "The Big Run" which ends up being about 34 miles. It will be challenging, but I am excited and have a lot of people that will run segments with me!
We have one other grant that is up for review this month that will help towards paying off the agency fees. Having made it through the first round, we should hear on a final decision by the 19th. Please be praying with us for that!
On a fun note: we took Zoey to the salon for the first time this past week and she loved getting pampered and styled and she looked so cute and I got such valuable advice!
Thank you all for your continued support, we are still far from the finish line but we know God has been with us every step of the way!
I wanted to give an update on total donations given since this isn't a full picture of what we've raised: we are up to approx $20,000 in donations given!!! Only $10,000 away from our goal!! Thank you so much for being a part of this journey with us, we are so grateful!
Happy Tuesday!
It has been a full week since we brought home our sassy 3 year old girl! She is so full of life and keeps us on our toes. She is settling in well, and Elijah is just crushing being a big brother (by 3 months ha). AND we have been so blessed by you guys generosity! We've had around $6000 come in just this past week via AdoptTogether and other giving, we still feel the pinch of upcoming expenses - home study + attorney for finalization BUT God has seen us through each and every moment and we know he is working in this story!
Logistically we just submitted our paperwork for finalization + our home study renewal (since it will expire before finalization) today and man that feels like a load off to have that complete. We are so grateful for each and every one of you and the way you have so generously cared for our family!
I will continue to update this page as we have post placement visits and we march towards finalization!
It's definitely time for an update! After being matched for ~6 weeks the birth mom did decide to parent. While this was emotional and needed space for processing we are trusting the Lord's timing. It did however, lead us to the agency we have decided to partner with! They have been amazing and we are finally fully on boarded with them and our profile is being shown. We can't wait to see what God has in store next!
