are adopting a child from India

We want to share some incredibly exciting news!

God has laid on our hearts the burden to make ourselves available for an international adoption. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be recently accepted into the India Program with America World Adoption Agency!

The decision to pursue adoption has been a deeply personal and heartfelt one for us. We see the need, we believe that every child is made in the image of God and deserves a loving and nurturing home, and we are eager to expand our family through this incredible process. Our hearts are filled with hope, anticipation, and some nerves as we imagine what a new child from the other side of the world will bring into our lives.

Why India? We were open to God’s leading anywhere and everywhere but after meeting with different agencies and learning about the different countries we qualified for (our desire to follow birth order, the mild to moderate needs we felt comfortable taking on, timeline, travel requirements, etc.) – India was the best fit for our family. India has a huge need… a reported 30 million orphans. With more than half of the country living in poverty, many parents abandon their children instead of attempting to care for them.

As we venture down this path, we know that adoption – particularly an international one – can be a complex and expensive process. There are numerous fees, legal expenses, and travel costs involved, all of which can add up significantly. While we are committed to doing everything we can to bring our future child home, we are reaching out to you, our community of friends and family, to ask for your support.

Any financial contribution, no matter the size, would go a long way in helping us cover the expenses associated with this adoption. Our program has communicated that the total estimated expenses for this adoption will be around $40,000.

We understand that not everyone may be in a position to offer financial assistance, and that’s absolutely okay. Your love, prayers, and friendship mean the world to us, and we genuinely appreciate your support throughout this journey.

We will keep you updated on our progress every step of the way as we move forward in the adoption process. We are eternally grateful for your love, friendship, and support, and we cannot wait to share the joyous news of welcoming our child into our family.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Tim & Sydney Yeager

    Court Order Received!

    February 5, 2025

A very exciting Yeager adoption update!

We are praising God because yesterday we received our family's Court Order which means our adoption has been finalized in India and baby boy (name to be communicated soon with everyone) is now officially our son! To God be the glory!
Now that we received our Court Order, our agency estimates that we will travel in one month or so. So things are getting real, y'all. The only thing we are waiting on before we book travel is the orphanage applying for and attaining baby boy's birth certificate so that they can start the passport application process for him. So in short, we are officially preparing for travel to India!

Now, all we have left financially to pay for is our travel expenses. Our desire is to take our whole family to India -- while this adds to the cost financially and makes logistics more challenging... Sydney and I want our biological children to see baby boy's orphanage and to be a very present part of the birth story. I want them to see, touch and smell the distress that baby boy is in. I want them to always be able to communicate to their baby brother that "I was there." I pray God blesses our efforts to help our biological children further understand the "why" behind all of this -- God cares so deeply for the vulnerable. We've always communicated that this adoption process isn't just a mommy/daddy thing, that it is a family thing. so our heart's desire is to bring them along.

    Specific Prayer Requests:
    - That God will provide the resources for us to book travel out of his abundance and grace
    - That the orphanage would have no issues getting his birth certificate/passport
    - Pray that baby boy is safe, taken care of and loved well by the orphanage while we wait.
    - Pray that God grants us the grace, mercy and comfort needed to handle any medical question marks... we are praying for 100% healing to his body, mind and spirit in FAITH!

Thankful for each and every one of you!- Tim & Sydney Yeager

    Referral Acceptance!

    November 18, 2024

17 months ago we sent the first update sharing exciting news about Sydney and I making our family available for an international adoption and our initial acceptance into the India program with America World Adoption Agency. Since then, we have had 1 on 1 conversations with all of you guys at some point trying our best to keep you up to date along the way. We wanted to send another email because we are in the final stretch of this process! We are currently in what is called the Referral Acceptance phase. We were so excited to get matched in August -- hours before Sydney and I's 10th anniversary date night -- with a 10-month old baby boy and have been doing everything we can since to get him home as fast as possible. This week, we have all of his paperwork ready to send to our Adoption Agency who will then get it prepared to send it to the orphanage in India for finalization. Then we wait...

Your prayers, encouragement and generous hearts have been such a source of strength for us over the past 17 months. We have story after story of God's provision and favor. God is so good.

    Specific Prayer Requests:
    - That our "Article 5" (final immigration approval) will be issued soon. Our agency is expecting this to be sent from the US Embassy in New Delhi this week.
    - That our "NOC" (No Objection Certificate) will be granted with no issues by India after receiving our Article 5.
    - That our "Adoption Order" will be as speedy as possible. This is what we need before we are able to book travel. Receiving an adoption order can take 4-8 months from getting the NOC.
    - Pray that baby boy is safe, taken care of and loved well by the orphanage while we wait. He still has some medical question marks... pray for healing to his body! God has already answered a few prayers of ours in our most recent medical report we received. Again... God is so good.

Thankful for each and every one of you!
    - Tim & Sydney Yeager
