Hello. We are Maria and Seth. We are hoping to realize our hopes and dreams of becoming parents. A few years ago we went through a series of overwhelmingly unsuccessful fertility treatments. The treatments took a toll on us. After finally accepting that treatments were not going to work for us, we took some time off to realign ourselves, metaphorically. I worked on healing my body and mind. Seth poured himself into work. After a year, we bought a house that came with a rental potential. We got to work on our rental property. It kept us busy and we loved the people we were meeting. Happiness re-entered our lives, when almost as a whisper in my ear, I knew. I felt it. I was ready. I told Seth I wanted to adopt and he nodded as if he had just been waiting for me to say the words. We started our adoption journey. We completed our home study and were waiting for our certification when Seth suddenly lost his job. Luckily we had our little rental property to keep us afloat but it was stressful. We hung in there for a couple of months when something like a warm hug filled us and we received word that we were certified! Later that same day, Seth was offered a job. A couple of our close friends who know all to well what we are going through have told us it is not a matter of how, it is a matter of when.
