Family & Friends We are overflowing with joy to welcome Maya Whitney into our family. Our second adoption journey has been 16 months of ups and downs. God swung the door wide open and we are still in awe of how He cleared the path to our baby girl. On the evening of Saturday June 28th we saw a post on an adoption support group that there was a birthmother due July 9th who had no insurance and had not yet been matched with a family. I spoke to her social worker on Sunday, we spoke to the birthmother on Monday afternoon and we officially matched with her that night. Tuesday morning we received a message that she had gone into labor, Wednesday morning we flew to Salt Lake City and held her for the first time. Wednesday night the birthmother signed relinquishment papers and we knew that she was ours. God is pretty amazing. We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support that we have received. We are reaching out to all of you to ask for your help in meeting the large financial requirements of this adoption. Agency fees, medical expenses, travel expenses, attorney fees and court costs will total $50,000. We are stepping out in faith and asking for your help. A donation of any amount would be helpful. We know that some of you are not in a financial position to do so. Please know that your prayers are just as important to us. We cannot wait to bring our baby girl home and for all of you to meet her! She is a beautiful gift from God.
