Our adoption journey began three years ago. It started with a dad who looked at his biological children and knew he had to give that love and those opportunities to children who&'d had those precious things taken from them. Mom soon followed him, and Garrett and Scout couldn&'t have been more excited and more willing to share their home and their parents. It has taken us through two countries and has brought us to our knees in prayer countless times, yet we are grateful to be on this road. We started on the waiting list in Ethiopia and sat there for two years. As the hope for completing adoptions in that country quickly and steadily dropped, our agency asked us to join them in a pilot program in Burundi. Though the decision was agonizing, as our hearts were in Ethiopia, we asked God to plant us where He wanted us, and we made the switch. After resubmitting all of the paperwork and many of the fees, we have now been matched with our daughter! We will be traveling soon to get her and bring her home. Some of you have been with us from the beginning, but like a rolling stone, we&'ve picked up a lot of you along the way. Whether you&'re a friend or a stranger, we are happy to link arms with you and make this dream happen. Thank you for your faithfulness and commitment to the cause and to our family. We can&'t wait to say to our daughter, "Look at all of these people who played a part in bringing you home. We loved you before we even knew you."
