Growing up with a desire for adoption and specifically to adopt a child with Down Syndrome, the first night we met one another we began to verbalize these dreams together. We never gave up on this deep desire placed in our hearts, and Moses was a confirmation of that dream 7 years into our marriage. Over six years ago, we brought sweet Moses home from the DRC. He has been a a joy and brought so much beauty to our family. He has taught us about love, resilience, determination, and the strength that it takes to persevere. As we have prayed for our next child, our hearts were full of wonder and peace as we asked the question if our next child has been given the gift of Down Syndrome as well. Our prayers were answered through sense of peace, determined passion and tear-filled conversations with good friends. Our Home Study is complete and we are waiting to be officially matched with a sweet baby boy who has Down Syndrome whom we identified through Reece's Rainbow's waiting children. We also chose Haiti as we are inspired by Hatian people, their courage and resilience, in both distant and recent history as they faced adversity through the 2010 earthquake, as well as hurricane Sandy, and most recently are still facing the trauma of Hurricane Matthew, but they continue to stand strong with courage and resilience. Our lives are compelled by the strength, courage and resilience that flourishes in the midst of adversity and trials. Please join us in praying for our next child, that he would know deeply that he is loved and that he has a family waiting for him. Please pray for a speedy homecoming, and please pray for provision.
