We talked and prayed about it for some time, then in August 2010, we decided to take the first steps to making adoption a reality in our lives. After 2 years of working toward and investing in the adoption of a 12 year old girl from Peru, we were devastated by the news that we would not be able to add her to our family. There was nothing we could do to change this decision. We were excited to have been able to fund our adoption from Peru with money we had saved over the years. Unfortunately, when the adoption fell through, we were unable to recover most of those funds. We immediately decided to continue on with our adoption journey because we know that for us adoption is obedience to God, and we still feel that our family is incomplete. We have now been in the process of adopting two sisters from Colombia since July 2012. Tatiana is 14 years old and Karen is 13 years old. The girls were able to visit us for three weeks in December 2013 through a hosting program for older adoptable children. Their visit confirmed what we already knew before we met them in person, they are our girls and they belong in our family. We will be traveling to Colombia in the summer of 2014 to finish out the girls&' adoptions and finally bring them home. We are humbled by and grateful for the funds that we have received so far, and want to thank each of you who have partnered with us to help bring our girls home. We cannot wait until the day that our family is finally together. Thank you so much for helping to make this day possible. Please consider 1) praying 2) supporting our adoption financially and 3) telling others by sharing this link
