We have been married 22 years, and God has blessed us with 4 biological children. Now, we are so thankful for the opportunity to grow our family through adoption. We started the process of adoption from the Philippines over a year ago. This process has been full of joy and grief, but we are so excited that God led us to a 6 year old boy! He is an active and happy boy, but he does have a cranial-facial injury that needs immediate attention. We are praying that the process will be expedited, so he can have the surgery he needs as soon as possible. That means that we may be traveling “soon”! We don&’t know if that is 3, 6, or 8 months, but we want to be ready when they say “Go”. God does amazing things during the process of adoption, and one of the amazing things about our son&’s story is his name. His first and middle name from birth is John Ward and he is called by both his first and middle name. The amazing thing is, that is Shannon&’s grandfather&’s first and last name, John Ward. So many friends and loved ones have come along side us on this exciting, difficult, and very expensive journey, and we couldn&’t have done this without them! We still have expenses, though, as we near the end of this journey and start our new journey as a family of 7.
