It all started at camp, Camp Roger to be exact. My wife (Robin) was a counselor for many summers and they had an "Exceptional" camper week. It was a week of camp devoted to individuals with special needs. She fell madly in love with these campers and looked forward to seeing them return each year. As we began dating, I too got to meet some of Robin&'s special friends and they found a place in my heart, too. Once we were married we dreamed big dreams about adopting several children. But careers and children (we have 3 ages 10,7,3) seemed to put it on the back burner. In truth, I (Matt) was probably the one who resisted the most. Dec of 2012 I was wrestling with the idea again and in February I came to Robin and told her I thought I was ready. I had no idea where the money would come from but let&'s put our trust in the Lord, He will provide. Robin would admit that she was starting to think I would never be ready, and when I was, she got really scared. After another week or so of second-guessing, we filled out our initial application. With that action, we have felt nothing but peace. Now we are counting the days until we bring our son home.
