For years we've been dreaming about adopting one of the millions of kids without a family. Why? We have at least a three motivations: (1) Love for children: We love kids. There isn't anything better we can give our time, energy, and resources to than loving and raising children. (2) Concern for children who need families: Estimates indicate there are as many as 200 million orphans worldwide. And this huge number doesn't include children who have living birthparents who aren't able to care for them. Through adoption, we can bring at least one of these precious kids into a loving family. (3) Inspired by the gospel: Adoption into God's family is one of the greatest benefits of the gospel. Through Christ, God brings us into his family, a family that transcends all racial, ethnic, and biological differences. As John Piper put it, "the bloodline of Jesus Christ is deeper than the bloodlines of race." Motivated by the gospel, then, we're eager to adopt and love a new son or daughter forever. We're saving as much as possible but could use your help because, wow, adoption is expensive. Thanks for considering!
