About two years ago, after prayerful consideration, our heart was deeply moved to open a place in our home and family to nurture, love, protect, teach and provide for another child. After spending time on two separate mission trips with a ministry called Haiti Lifeline, our family decided to adopt a child from an orphanage called Centre Children International Life Line d&'Haiti. We chose to adopt internationally because we wanted to give a child an opportunity for a future that would have otherwise been next to impossible to achieve. Not only do we desire to provide what the child needs most (our love, acceptance, stability, family, etc.), we also desire to give an opportunity for this child to gain a better education and have the opportunity to pursue his/her dreams. Throughout 2013-14, we completed all paperwork and necessary requirements so that our application could be submitted to Haiti for approval. In August of 2014, our final Dossier was submitted to the Haitian Social Services Agency called IBESR, and we are now in the process of being matched with a child from Haiti. We have been told this process could take another year or more before our child can return with us to the United States. We will provide more details about our adoptive child once it has been made official. Now that our paperwork has been submitted, we are ecstatic to focus on learning more about Haiti and the child we will soon bring home. Our biological children are excited to share in this journey and they are looking forward to having a brother or sister to play and spend time with. We are eagerly anticipating our adoptive child coming home.
