We&'ve been married for several years now and have always wanted to start a family, and we realize adoption will fulfill that dream. For many reasons, the China Medical Special Needs program seems like the right path. When we submitted our dossier to China on 8/9/13, we assumed our match would happen early the next year, but only 13 days after our dossier was shipped to China, we got THE CALL. We have an adorable 5 1/2 year old daughter waiting. We&'re amazed and humbled by friends and family members that have asked how they can help. We&'ve been diligently moving forward with the process and have already taken care of many of the costs. However, since we are adopting through the China special needs program there will likely be immediate medical costs in addition to the adoption and travel fees so the offers are very much appreciated. We learned about Adopt Together through friends, as well as in a recent CNN Money article. When we learned of the concept of donations being awarded through a grant, so that donations from friends and family are tax-deductible, we decided to give it a try.
