is adopting a child from United States of America

Thousands of children are born each month without the pride and affection of a mom and dad. This small thought has been a weight upon our hearts for many months, and by God'â„¢s grace, Brynn and I are in pursuit of bringing home our second child through adoption. In light of this big decision, we want to briefly explain how we'â„¢ve been shaped and led. Adoption is a cornerstone of God'â„¢s story of redemption. The Bible says that He is reconciling a harassed, helpless people unto Himself, and He is making spiritual orphans into sons and daughters. God sent His Son, Jesus, to pursue us when we had nothing to offer Him, and it cost Jesus His life. In response to the Gospel story, we are driven to engage the broken parts of our world. Brynn and I see the need to personally fight against our natural apathy and move with real compassion toward those who may be neglected and alone. I think this is the reason that James 1:27 says that pure religion is caring for orphans and widows. That's just what grace does. In addition to the spiritual reasons for adoption, Brynn and I have been impacted by statistics about the increasing number of fatherless homes in America, especially amongst minorities. This problem has made itself apparent and personal to us as we drive in and out of our inner-city neighborhood in Houston, Texas. Men and women must open their lives and homes to the needs of their communities. While adoption will be costly in many ways, we cannot quiet the desire to love a child whose parents are unable.
