We are a clergy couple in the United Methodist Church and love serving God and God's people. Even on the difficult days we cannot imagine doing anything else. The call to adoption came for both of us before we were married or even a couple. As we researched and prayed about what options to pursue, we felt the draw to the public system which has many children in need of a loving home. In May 2015 we welcomed our son, Josh, as a foster child, into our home. He has taught us so much, especially the joy of parenting. He became adoptable in March of this year, and his adoption was finalized through the public system on October 31, 2016. He is now thirteen and getting more settled with life and in our home. In our training classes for adoption we were told that infant adoption was extremely unlikely and not to count on that potential. We had accepted that and were happy to welcome whatever child(ren) God sent our way. Then an unusual set of circumstances presented us with the possibility to adopt an infant. We were overjoyed and yet shocked when we were chosen by the birthparents to raise their child. We feel very humbled to be given this honor. Hannah was born on October 20, 2016 and has been a tremendous blessing to our family and extended family. Hannah's adoption will be finalized in May when we will need to have the remainder of the balance due for the agency fees, attorney fees and court costs. Thank you for considering supporting us as we continue the faithful journey as God's servants.
