Why? We get asked that questions sometimes.The simple answer is that our family isn&’t complete. There&’s someone missing and she happens to live on the other side of the globe, so we need to go get her. A deeper answer that underlies it all is that we are compelled to share the love of our Savior with others. He has a special affinity for orphans in particular, so it makes sense that we would want to be on mission with Him in loving someone who needs a family. And it works out well because we have an empty chair waiting for a squirming, giggling little girl. We began our homestudy in January, 2014; we very unexpectedly received pre-approval for our daughter, Hanna, in March! As far as fundraising goes, the epic yard sale held in May raised just over $8,000 for our adoption expenses! Through saving and selling and the generosity of others, we have raised roughly an additional $2,500, which leaves us needing to raise about $18,000.
