Hi, we are the Rylander family! We are Drew and Holly Rylander. We have three biological boys; Colton(12), Rankin(9), and Lincoln(2). We are in the process of adopting our fourth boy! This summer we had the privilege of hosting a 10 year old boy from China. His name is Bao(pronounced Bow, like the bow of a ship). Bao, along with 20 other orphans, traveled to America for a month. They each got to live with a family, before returning to their orphanage. The program focuses on a demographic of children that are really, really hard to find families for. They are usually older boys with unknown medical needs. Bao has mild Cerebral Palsy, and an undiagnosed heart condition. The program helps folks see they aren't just a scary file, they are real people. The older they get the chances of adoption are tiny. This program gives them a voice, a chance! Bao is one of the many children in danger of aging out of the system. In China, the children age out at the young age of 14. Most of the precious children are kicked to the streets with nothing. Feeling alone and unlovable. We desire nothing more than to change that fate for one amazing little boy! We can't wait to be his forever family. We have been desperately filling out paper work to bring Bao home. We learned so much from our brave little boy, despite the language barrier. Bao was abandoned in a parking lot as an infant. He has lived his entire life behind the walls of an orphanage; yet he is the one who taught us more about courage, strength, and unconditional love. Bao was up for every crazy adventure we had planned. We miss his contagious giggle, and can't wait for the day our family is whole again! Our dossier was officially logged-in to China on October 20th! We received our LSC and FINALLY sent Bao a letter to let him know we are coming for him on December 20th. We hope to travel to China in March. We will spend two weeks in China to finalize the adoption of our sweet Bao. We trust God will provide, and bring Bao home in His time.
