_#### YUP! We are doing this AGAIN!!_It's more been a little over 2 years since our son joined our family. The adoption process was truly an emotional roller coaster ride. What made it even harder was we kept it to ourselves and a selected few close relatives and friends. We were unsure about sharing our journey with others until it was close to completion. To be honest, we were nervous about the process as it was totally unknown and did not want to open ourselves up to additional stress. We know now that approach was a mistake, because we inadvertently limited our access to emotional support, lost an opportunity to educate others about adoption and of course made it extremely difficult to fundraise.
Our son is a dream come true and was totally worth the wait! He's the happiest little boy you will ever meet! His laugh and smile are contagious! When Tito and I first met we talked about adoption as a wonderful way to give a child a loving home. A few years after we got married, destiny lead us to start our family through adoption. For a while we were almost certain that we would be content with just having one child, and the truth is we found the idea of another adoption process to be daunting. The waiting, the paperwork, the waiting and of course the adoption expenses….But as we witnessed our son flourish into this happy, confident, strong, little guy we couldn't help but consider the idea of adding another little one someday.
Last summer, destiny once again lead us to start our second adoption. This time we are hoping to adopt a baby girl! We started the process that July and now we are waiting for Colombia to match us with our princess!
As we wait, we are budgeting and fundraising to tackle adoption fees; agency, home study, immigration, attorney and travel fees. Our fundraising goal is kept current to reflect success we have with other fundraising efforts (i.e. yard sales, T-shirts, a puzzle) and to include cash donations we've received.
Please help us complete our Colombian family!
"It truly takes a village to adopt a child"
