Many years ago (we won&'t count how many wink emoticon…) when I was in high school, God placed a desire to adopt in my heart. I wasn&'t sure what exactly that meant or how that desire would play out but I knew those feelings were there. When Kyle and I got married, adoption was something we talked about but there wasn&'t a clear direction so we waited. Late last year we began to seriously talk about adoption and all of the sudden the details started coming together. Right now we are pursing domestic adoption with the hopes of adopting a newborn. However, as we&'ve gone through this process we&'ve learned that anything can happen and we are going into this with an open mind. Our home study was completed at the end of April and we have applied to several different adoption agencies. Because we have applied to multiple agencies, the typical wait time is 6-9 months. We realize that this is the average wait time and our time could be shorter or longer. We are open to either a boy or a girl. Lyla is hoping for a girl and Tyler is hoping for a boy. smile emoticon And while we are so excited to be adopting we are learning that this isn&'t for the faint of heart. There are many decisions to make and lots of research to be done. Please be praying for us as we enter this next phase of the adoption process. We know that God has already chosen the perfect baby for our family and we can&'t wait to meet him or her!
