We are adopting a child!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a precious baby into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. Our goal is to raise enough for the initial costs of starting the process. We are working with a consultant to help support us through this process and allow us to work with multiple agencies. The average time a family waits for infant adoption is 2-3 years! Working with a consultant allows us to work with multiple agencies across the country and reduces the time to an average of 6-10 months after our home study is complete. This is why we have set a goal of $6000 to help ease the stress of starting our contract with the consultant and paying for our home study. Our hope is to save the rest of the funds for the adoption ourselves, if at all possible.
