Sam Wong

is adopting a child from China

Our path to adoption began with an unexpected church service in December of 2017. Our pastor's brother-in-law leads an adoption agency and came to speak on his work and the Biblical basis for adoption. The whole service I could feel a stirring in my heart. Immediately following the service, as Sam and I looked at each other, I said, "So, are we going to talk to him?" "Obviously," was Sam's response.

Really though, our adoption journey began much earlier. As some of you know, Sam was adopted as an infant from Korea. From the beginning of our marriage, we always planned to adopt in theory; but we were never sure about the timing. Hearing an adoption message at church was the clarity we needed.

As we explored our options, we decided that the China program was the best fit for us. Now, after 8 months of increasingly detailed iterations of paperwork, we have all of our documents to China and are waiting to be matched. Although waiting is challenging, we are excited to expand our family in the coming months and share new details about the process.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. Thank you so much for your support and prayers!
