As many of you already know, we have been planning to start a family for close to two decades now, and our plans have repeatedly failed, been stymied or postponed. There is a lesson to be learned here, I think. When Fate conspires against you, Fate needs to be kicked in the head. In other words, WE STILL THINK THIS CAN HAPPEN.
We have filled out enough paperwork to keep Dunder Mifflin in business for many years to come, and we have successfully completed our Home Study with Family Options Adoption Agency. We are on the fast track now! We could be parents a year from now, we could be parents TOMORROW. Although it probably won't be tomorrow, unless today is the day before we become parents.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. Adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
By inviting you into this process, we are also inviting you to be a part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. Please, bear witness to our Miracle, but also help make it happen!
