Hello all!

Even after these three years, we are still in the process of adopting. For a variety of reasons, we see God confirming that we should continue to patiently pursue adoption but that He is re-directing us to an international adoption. We are staying with the same agency (A Small World) but will now be adopting from Liberia.

People have asked us how they can help.

Prayer - Pray that God would direct each step of this process and that we would have wisdom to navigate the details and paperwork required, which is sometimes more complicated to accomplish while living in Indonesia.

Finances - Adoption related costs can easily total up to $70,000 or more. Expenses include (but aren’t limited to) fees for application, training, home study, travel, and the legal process.

  • Update 3

    September 8th!

    July 16, 2026

    We have our Liberian court date to adopt the twins! September 8th they will officially become part of our family! We will need to be in Monrovia by the 6th.

    Next steps: get yellow fever vaccines, buy plane tickets, apply for our visas and confirm our housing situation in Monrovia.

    We would appreciate your continued prayers for this process. We know it will be time to head to Liberia before we know it. Here are a few specific prayer requests:

    1. Housing- We arranged housing in a mission house back in March. We’ve tried to reach our contact but have been unsuccessful for the past month. Would you pray we can reach her and confirm that we have a place to stay for the days we now know we will be in Liberia?
    2. Visa- Pray this process goes smoothly and quickly so we receive our visas in time.
    3. Hearts- Please continue to pray that all of our hearts are ready for this big change and transition. We know there will be ups and downs in this journey.

    Matched!!

    March 28, 2026

    After 7 years of waiting, we are thrilled to announce that we have been matched! The Lord is adding twin 6-year-old girls to our family, and we couldn't be more excited! We look foward to the time when we can share more details and pictures. The current plan is that we will be going to Liberia for the month of September for the adoption and immigration process. After that, we will return to the States for their citizenship process. These are just estimations, so as more information is known, we will let you all know.

    Thank you for faithfully praying for us and encouraging us over the years. Here are a few specific ways that you can be praying in the coming months:

    - Pray for our family as we prepare for this big transition. We know that there are going to be some big ups and downs in our future, and we (including the kids) want to be as ready and equipped as much as possible.
    - Pray for the girls- that the Lord would be readying them to become a part of our family and preparing them as they say goodbye to their friends at the Small World transition home and say goodbye to their country.

    After almost two years of waiting...

    June 11, 2025

    FINALLY!! We are excited to report that, after nearly two years of delays, the doors for international adoption in Liberia have been reopened, allowing us to continue this adoption process!! We’re so grateful to all of you who have prayed for us and supported us through this long process. We hope to have more updates in the near future.
