is adopting a child from United States of America

Dear Family and Friends,

We have BIG news! We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a child into our home. If you are new to our story, we have been looking forward to expanding our family and becoming parents for several years. Over the last five years we have been through multiple rounds of fertility treatments and experienced several pregnancy losses. In March 2019 our son, Lorenzo Isaiah, was stillborn. Over the last year we took time to grieve the loss of our son and eventually began to consider the right path forward for our family. After careful consideration, we decided to pursue adoption. We know that we have love to give, a home to share, and cannot wait to create new memories with an addition to our family.

It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs are extraordinary. For this reason, we are conducting a small fundraiser to help ease the financial constraints of our adoption. Your donation will be applied directly to adoption related costs including adoption placement services, attorney and legal fees, the home-study process, and adoptive parenting training courses. We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. No donation is considered too small. Most importantly, we recognize we are living amid a global pandemic. Your generosity is even more appreciated during these unprecedented times.

The fundraiser we are conducting is a handmade quilt raffle. This will be conducted through AdoptTogether, which also makes your donation tax deductible. Jane (Jessica's mom) has volunteered her quilting expertise to donate handmade quilts and coasters.

For every two raffle entries, you will also receive a handmade quilted coaster in the mail as pictured in the Flickr link below. We hope this will remind you of our family and your support of our journey.

The raffle includes the following items:

Handmade t-shirt quilt. The t-shirt quilt will be like some of the photos below but using a collection of your 20 to 25 favorite t-shirts. Jessica's mom has made t-shirt quilts for many people in our family, and they are some of the coziest that we have.

Handmade 30s Era Quilt. This beautiful quilt is 62” x 80” and is made with 30s era reproduction fabrics. We have two of these quilts. One has the words love, beautiful, happiness, playful, faithful, goodness, hope, joy, grateful, gentleness, kindness, and peace embroidered on it.

Lap Quilts. These cozy lap quilts are 39” x 50” and are perfect for curling up on the couch. They are hand tied and have soft fleece backing. Winners will be able to select their choice of quilt based on the order in which the names are drawn.

The photos of the quilts and coasters can be seen here or at the following link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/189010086@N04/albums/72157714810280858/with/50031291661/
