Hi friends, we are so excited to be sharing our adoption journey with you! We have been working very hard the last four years to start our family. Due to both of us having fertility issues we underwent a lot of procedures, took medications, tried holistic approaches and prayed continuously. After being unsuccessful for so long we looked at each other and said "what are we doing"? At that moment, we knew that God had another child meant for us. We did our research and found a great agency that offers a lot of medical and emotional support to the birth mothers, which is very important to us. As we were prepared for, the agency told us it could take up to 2 years for a family to pick us. What we weren't prepared for was to get a call only two WEEKS later that we had been selected!!! It was a miracle and truly unheard of to be matched so fast! Even more of a blessing is that our birth family is everything we were hoping for, we are each other's true match! So not only was this a huge surprise but a huge financial surprise as well. We expected to have a lot more time to prepare financially. All the years of fertility treatments have pretty much depleted our savings. Unfortunately, adoption is very costly. We are paying for our birth mother's medical care, living expenses and counseling so she can deliver a healthy baby as well as the agency's fee for matching, attorney's fees and court cost. This is very unlike our character to ask anybody for financial assistance but we must humble ourselves during this time. Through this company any contribution is consider a taxable donation and a huge blessing to our growing family. We intend to teach Colton that we just didn't adopt him but there was any army of people waiting for him.
