Miranda Ulven

is adopting a child from United States of America

We have BIG news!

We are adopting a child!

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. Thanks for looking at our page and considering to help us on our journey to baby Ulven!

Our Story:

Hank and I met Sophomore year of High school. It started out as a really tight friendship with one another and then grew into much more. Our relationship grew a lot together through the ministry of Younglife. Hank and I both accepted Jesus into our hearts thanks to leaders that pursued us and taught us about how much God loves us. This really brought our relationship to a whole new level knowing we both loved a God that made us and created us. We were forever changed by this decision in our lives that we really felt called to become leaders ourselves. Hank and I have been leaders for Younglife the last 9 years or so. After high school Hank attended college at George Fox University and Miranda went to Cosmetology school. We got married May 12, 2013. We have two fur pups that joined our family named Scout and Ota. Hank is now a high school special education teacher, and Miranda is a Hairstylist.

Adoption has always been on our hearts since we got married. We knew we would adopt in some way but our thoughts were leaning more to grow our family after having children that were biologically ours. God slowly started to change our hearts in that way when we started our struggle with infertility. Our dreams of starting a family were much longer & painful than we ever anticipated it to be. This came with lots of tests and doctor visits to try and pin down what was going wrong for us. When it comes to infertility there is always a “next step”. Technology is so advanced and there are so many possibilities when it comes down to it. It’s overwhelming when to know to stop doing treatments and when to just keep moving forward. Through many appointments and more heart break each month, we really started asking God what He wanted from us. There were many months of tears because we didn’t understand why this wasn’t happening for us. Hank & I both grieved a lot during this process and leaned into eachother when it hurt most. I can say now our marriage is stronger than ever.

I wanted nothing more to start our family, and adoption kept coming up. Anytime it did, I kinda brushed it off saying, “yes God I know we will but that’s later”. I can’t tell you how many times the Lord has brought it up in conversations & Him placing scripture in front of me. It’s hard to jump whole heartedly at those signs in the moment of struggle. In the midst of our struggle sometimes its hard to see what’s on the other side waiting for us.

Through so much prayer we are whole heartedly ready for our journey with adoption. We have chosen to accept God’s calling for us!

Thanks for reading and considering being a part of our story!
