God has placed the orphan child on our hearts. Since adopting our son Tariku from Ethiopia in 2010, Whitney has been praying for a sister. This year I started to do some research seeing what countries are open for adoption. A friend told me about Rainbow Kids a website with waiting children from the United States and all around the world. One night while on Rainbow kids Gavin said, "Mom what are you looking at?"Â I told him about Rainbow Kids and we found some little girls who were available for adoption, he said, "Å“We have to inquire on them."Â I was just researching at this point, not planning on inquiring but how do I say no to a 10 year old who has a heart for adoption. We inquired and found that 2 of the children were available for adoption. The adoption agency said we need to do a phone interview. During this time we fasted and prayed to see if this is Godâ„¢'s leading for us. Upon ending the fast we received information on a little girl Catherine who is ready and waiting for adoption. We prayed and felt God's peace calling us to adopt. We are adopting Catherine, who is 16 months old and is in a Christian orphanage in Uganda. We are excited and the time is getting closer, we started our paperwork in June and we will have our first travel hopefully in October to meet her. Praying the paperwork goes smoothly and we can have her home before Christmas. We appreciate your help to bring Catherine home!
