Hello All!
The Vazquez's have begun the AWESOME journey of welcoming a child into their home through international adoption! They have already had such incredible support in their adoption journey, and feel immensely blessed by the outpouring of love and excitement.
They are beyond excited and are doing everything they can to be prepared to welcome this beautiful new child. They have filled out TONS of paperwork, and know who they are adopting, so they are officially "paper pregnant." The way their agency works is that they pre-match all adopting parents with the child because all children adopted from China and Hong Kong have special needs. They already received his 24 page file so they could make an open and honest decision. Once they said yes to him, they had to be matched to the orphanage because each country has very specific home studies. The orphanage decides if they are a good match before they get too deep into the process. They are matched with a 5 year old little boy.
They are adopting from Hong Kong and Marc and Vanessa will both be travelling to pick up their little guy. They will be in Hong Kong for 1 week and are praying the process is finalized by June 11th, which is the little guy's 6th birthday.
He does have special needs but they are prepared and have a huge village of amazing medical professionals, counselors, and friends to help him become the best version of himself he can be.
Being that their future child is a 5 year old boy, and they already have a family with 3 boys, they already have all of the clothes and toys that they're going to need. Being that they don't need the typical presents friends and family would provide to help support, the best way their village can support them is by donating towards their adoption fees. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents
That being said, the Vazquez's are aware that adoption is very expensive, and they are fully prepared to pay for it all. They have prayed over this for over a year, and God has told them that this is their path. As an adoptive mother myself, I knew there were people in their life that would want to help in any way possible. This website is an amazing way that friends and family can donate towards the cause, as well as allowing the Vazquez's to apply for grants to help fund their journey as well. All donations are tax deductible! Hopefully by being included in this process, you will see yourself as part of the community every family needs to build around their child as he grows up.
