Jordan Votto

is adopting a child from United States of America

Anthony and I have been together for 9 years and will be married 1 year in November 2020. We have dreamed of having a family for many years, we discussed the options we had. We opted to take the risk and get licensed to foster to adopt in the State of Rhode Island knowing the possible risk but never imagined it would be as hard as it was. Went through the process of intake, completing the certification class, completing the home study and waiting for the call for a child. On August 20th, we received the call that there was a newborn in the NICU at Women and Infants and needed a family. He was born at 31 weeks, 8 weeks early for a few health reasons. Everyday for 3 weeks we went to the NICU spending hours there cuddling, feeding, and caring for him, developing a bond we have always dreamed of. We were told from the first phone call, this was a slam dunk and he would most likely go up for adoption. Taking him home a few weeks later, as new parents we were experiencing all the normal nerves. We battled the state agency advocating for him day in and day out. After 3 long months with the state but 3 months of bonding and loving him, he was released to his bio parents for reasons that can't be discussed. As we grieve through this process of losing Baby S. We started thinking again how these two dads could have their own family again while we hope Baby S will returned to us some day.

We researched agencies knowing this was coming. We applied and was accepted by LifeLong Adoptions.

We have accepted the offer and are pending our home study and being advertised through the US to possible birth mothers in need that can grant us the best gift we could ever ask for.

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to tens of thousands of dollars or more. This is why we have set a goal of 30,000.00 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he grows up.
