Our journey toward adoption was birthed at the crossroads of deep sorrow and gospel hope. In 2010, after years of infertility, we miraculously became pregnant with our first child, Emma. Tragically, just weeks before she was to be born, in a passing moment during the still hours of night, she slipped away from life and into the arms of Jesus. The grief that followed felt bottomless, but the Lord held us in the depths, and raised us from the ashes. He rescued our hearts and drew us toward adoption, affirming that just as God adopts us into his family forever through the saving work of Jesus, we are given the opportunity, by His grace, to mirror that transformational truth in our own families. In 2013, we adopted our first son, Henry. He is an amazing, sweet, hilarious little boy who is now 2 years old. Earlier this year, in another miracle from God, we had another baby, a biological boy we named Theo, which means "God given." And now, only a couple months ago, we learned that Henry&'s birth parents, who have struggled with homelessness most of their adult lives, are pregnant again, and have courageously decided to give this baby up for adoption as well. And wonderfully, they have chosen us again to be this beautiful child&'s parents. God is good, let the journey continue!
